Students in my classroom are encouraged to meet high standards both academically and behaviorally. While homework may not be the most fun, it is so important for building knowledge.  Students should be explaining what they learn each day.  This will help students lock in their learning.

Email: mbrookins@goshenschools.orgI have high expectations, both academically and behaviorally for fifth grade.  In my room “fair and not equal” is practiced.  I try to give students what they need.  Students are respected and also show respect.I believe students need to collaborate during the learning process, so I incorporate many opportunities for them to talk, share, and discuss their ideas.  I believe every child can learn and grow, and that education is a team effort, involving parents and community members.
