Activities
Parkside provides many activities for students and families.
These are voluntary opportunities and provide activities that will enhance
the students’ learning and create an environment that develops
them into highly successful citizens.
Field Trip Opportunities
- Kindergarten – Trip to the zoo
- First Grade – Visits the Pumpkin
Farm and Christmas Plays
- Second Grade – Visits Greencroft and Oxbow Park
- Third Grade – Historical
field trips, Walking tour at Waterford (Underground Railroad), Mayor’s
office and City Buildings.
- Fourth Grade – Merry Lea to study the Rock
Unit and the Maple syrup festival
- Fifth Grade – Tour of Goshen Middle
School, Camp Friedenswald, Silver Hawks game, and Brenneman Memorial “Growing Up
Healthy”
After School Opportunities
- Competitive Chess Club – Meets once a week
- Ethnic Fair
Involvement – An annual acitivity
- Grade Level Parent/Guardian Orientations
- Instructional Partnership with
Goshen College and Bethel College Students – Activities
occur several times a year
- Kids Care Program – Daily before and after
schoolchild care provided by Camp
Fire.
- Club RIOT – Meets on Thursday after
school. For grades 3, 4 & 5.
Parental permission is required.
- Book Fairs – Twice a
year (spring & fall)
- Math Bowl Team – Meets in January
and February to prepare for the March Math Bowl Competition.
- 5th Grade - Boys' and Girls' Basketball
